Unagi Philadelphia
This dish embodies the perfect combination of the creaminess of Philadelphia cheese with the aromatic and delicate taste of unagi – Japanese eel cooked in a sweet marinade.
Preparing Philadelphia Unagi rolls may seem complicated at first glance, but our detailed recipe will make this process easy and understandable, allowing you to enjoy the pleasant taste of the famous dish.
Ingredients:
- Rice seasoned for JS sushi – 130 g
- Frozen roasted eel JS – 80 g
- Fresh-frozen mango – 30 g
- Cream cheese – 50 g
- Unagi sauce JS – 8 g
- Teriyaki sauce JS – 8 g
- JS pickled pink ginger – 10 g
- Wasabi powder JS – 5 g
- Nori – 1 l
- JS soy sauce
Method of preparation:
- Cut off the upper part of the nori sheet along its entire width by 3 cm. Place the boiled and seasoned rice on the nori sheet, pressing tightly over the entire surface, leaving the upper edge of the sheet without rice for 2 cm.
- Turn the blank with rice to the bottom so that the edge of the sheet without rice is closer to you. Place cream cheese and mango in the center. Shape into a roll. Give the roll the required shape with the help of a mat (makisu).
- On top of the formed roll, lay the eel cut into not thick slices. After that, once again lightly press the roll so that the fish lies down well.
- Cut the roll into 8 equal parts, cover with JS Unagi sauce and JS Teriyaki sauce.
- Serve with ginger, soy sauce and wasabi.
